Erik Steeves has been playing guitar since age 13, and formed Deviation with Austyn at age 15.

 He started with trumpet in middle school band. After hearing a Slayer song, he would become more interested in metal. Seeing Ozzy Osbourne in 2018 lead to him picking up guitar in late 2018. He would become friends with Austyn Brewer in 8th grade, and would drop trumpet to fully focus on guitar after 8th grade ended.
